By designing a dress that intentionally does not fit the body, Meis Rienstra challenges prevailing notions of beauty and physical “fit” in this project. For the photographic composition, I chose a body-focused, constricting, and almost claustrophobic angle to amplify the sense of physical and emotional tension.
I emphasized the red of the garment against a stark white background, allowing it to appear as an explosive and inescapable visual element. In doing so, I aimed to convey both a sense of helplessness and an urgent, confrontational presence.
