While photographing No Eye Contact, the artwork designed and produced by Luke Hummel, I adopted an experimental approach by integrating a personal narrative into the process. After positioning two models on opposite sides of the chair, I photographed them from various angles for twenty minutes without giving any instructions. The resulting series reveals how a chair can simultaneously create distance between two strangers and, paradoxically, foster a pleasant conversation that connects them.
